واژه effect  به اثر و نتیجه یک عمل یا رویداد اشاره داره

مثل:

The effect of the medicine was that I fell asleep.
 The effect of the rain was that the streets were flooded.
 The effect of the policy was that many people lost their jobs.

اما واژه   influence  به توانایی تاثیرگذاری بر کسی یا چیزی اشاره داره

مثل:

- She had a great influence on her students.
- His influence on the company's decision was significant.
- The influence of social media on our daily lives is growing rapidly.

همچنین واژه Affect   هم داریم که مفهوم و کاربردش اغلب  مشابه influence   هست.
