این جمله به ظاهر ساده هست، اما من متوجه نمیشم فعل ها چه زمانی رو نشون میدن و ترجمه دقیق اون به چه صورته؟  "if he heard, he paid no heed"

فرق protect against sth و protect from sth چیست؟ واینک  در این جمله منظور از  «protect against» "South Korean national law does not recognize same-sex marriage or civil unions, nor does it protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity"
