richard nixon was president of the united states from 1969 to 1974. he was a member of the republican party. he was born in 1913 and served in the house of representatives from 1947 to 1951 and the senate from 1951 to 1953. he was vice president from 1953 to 1961 and was defeated by john f kennedy in the 1960 presidential election. nixon was the first president of the united states to resign from office. he faced impeachment following the watergate scandal. richard nixon died in 1994. born: 1913.
