A layer of resolidified material, or recast layer, commonly lines laser drilled holes. This is formed from the resolidification of molten material that was not ejected from the hole. Recast layers are undesirable since they can be cracked and brittle as well as introducing variation into hole shape and dimensions

لایه دوباره منجمد شده ( جامد شده ) ، لایه ای از مواد مذاب که روی سطح قطعه کار سرد شده و روی آن سطح می نشینند که به این لایه که روی سطح تشکیل شده recast layer می گویند.
