major-general sitiveni rabuka became prime minister of fiji in 1992. he led a successful coup in 1987. from 1987 to 1991 he was commander of the fiji security forces and minister for home affairs. in 1991 he became deputy prime minister and president of the fijian political party. born: 1948.
