اغلب زمانی استفاده می شود که به شخص یا حیوانی اشاره می شود که در حالت درد و رنج شدید قرار دارد.
مثال؛
The injured deer was put out of its misery by a compassionate hunter.
In a conversation about euthanasia, someone might say, “Sometimes it’s necessary to put a suffering patient out of their misery. ”
