punsalmaagiyn ochirbat became the first president of mongolia in 1990. he became a member of the central committee of the mongolian people's revolutionary party (mprp) in 1976 and served as chairman of the presidium of the people's great hural in 1990. in 1991 he resigned from the mprp. born: 1942.
