Narrative writing is writing that tells a story. It can be real or imaginary. The purpose is to entertain, share an experience, or teach a lesson through a sequence of events. Key features of narrative writing:

Characters – people, animals, or creatures in the story.
Setting – where and when the story happens.
Plot – the series of events ( beginning, middle, end ) .
Conflict – a problem or challenge the characters face.
Point of view – who is telling the story ( first person “I” or third person “he/she/they” ) .
Resolution – how the problem is solved or the story ends.
