Murder - for - hire is a term used to describe a situation where one party hires another party to kill a targeted person or people. It is also known as contract killing. The agreement between the two parties includes some form of compensation, monetary or otherwise, and is illegal. The hiring party may be a person, group, or organization, and the killing is carried out by the other party. Contract killing is often associated with organized crime, government conspiracies, dictatorships, and vendettas.
