konstantinos karamanlis was president of greece from 1980 to 1985, and again became president in 1990. he was an mp from 1935 to 1967, and from 1974 to 1980. he served as prime minister from 1955 to 1958, 1958 to 1961, and from 1961 to 1963. from 1963 until 1974 he was in exile, and on his return to greece he founded the new democracy party. he was leader of the new democracy party and prime minister of greece from 1974 to 1980. born: 1907.
