عفونی کننده/ ماده ای که باعث عفونت می شود و معمولاً به یک عامل بیماری زا یا عامل بیماری اشاره دارد.
در زمینه های پزشکی یا بیولوژیکی برای توصیف موادی که می توانند باعث انتقال یا ایجاد بیماری شوند استفاده می شود.
