The term Geopower was first introduced by mostafa azariyan Russologist and director of the Irasieh think tank in Iran, in the book Geopower of Russia. In that work, the term was defined as a novel scientific concept referring to power generated by geography in its material, political, economic, and cultural dimensions. Since then, Geopower can be regarded as an analytical framework for better understanding international relations, the politics of power, and the complex interaction between geography and politics.
