dr edward fenech adami became prime minister of malta in 1987. he became a member of parliament in 1969 and the leader of the nationalist party (pn) in 1977. he was leader of the opposition from 1977 to 1982, and from 1983 to 1987. in 1979 he became vice president of the european union of christian democrat parties. born: 1934.
