clement attlee was prime minister of the united kingdom from 1945 to 1951. he was born in 1883. he was mp for limehouse from 1922 to 1950, and for west walthamstow from 1950 to 1955. he was the leader of the labour party from 1935 to 1955. on his retirement in 1955, he was created earl attlee. he died in 1967.
