So that construction—noun + “of a” + noun—is standard English, acceptable even in the best writing.
However, when an adjective is part of the pattern—adjective + “of a” + noun—some usages are standard and some aren’t.
In standard English, we commonly use certain adjectives of quantity—“much,” “more,” “less,” “enough”—in this way, as in “enough of a problem” and “too much of a drive.”
But with adjectives of degree—“good/bad,” “big/small,” “long/short,” “old/young,” “hard/easy,” “near/far,” and so on—the “of a” pattern is not considered standard English.

As M-W concludes: “The only stricture on it suggested by our evidence is that it is a spoken idiom: you will not want to use it much in writing except of the personal kind.”

سلام بنده خیلی رو این موضوع تحقیق کردم، در ابتدا بگم که خودم این جمله رو "it's not that big of a deal" زیاد شنیدم. الان متوجه شدم که این عبارت حدود ۲ میلیارد بار و عبارت "it's not a big deal" حدود ۱۷ میلیون بار در سراسر اینترنت تکرار شده و به شدت مورد استفاده قرار میگیره.
از لحاظ گرامری هم مشکلی نداره چون یه اصطلاحه، فقط بحث سر این هست که of a رو بهتره اضافه کنیم یا نه، که چیزی که من متوجه شدم، همه اینا درسته ولی زمانی که of a رو اضافه میکنم بهتره قبل از صفت یه that هم اضافه بکنیم ولی اینجور ساختار بیشتر غیر رسمی هست و در نوشتار بهتره بنویسیم: it's not big a deal.
و همینطور ساختار noun + of a + noun قدمت طولانی داره که شواهدش رو در نوشته های سال ۱۶۸۰ به بعد میشه پیدا کرد، مثل ...devil of a یا ...hell of a .

big a deal از نظر گرامری غلطه. چنین چیزی رو کسی استفاده نمیکنه.
شکل درستش همون a big deal است

اما در گفتگو های عامیانهbig a deal استفاده میشه

در گفت و گوی عامیانه که قطعا مشکلی نداره big a deal گفته بشه. کلا زمین تا آسمون فرق میکنه با شکل formal.
توی فارسی هم مثلا میگیم: بزرگه چقدر این کتابی که خریدی! خب چنین حرفی رو به کسی بگی، متوجه منظور میشه. نمیاد به گرامر ایراد بگیره. ولی بخواید همین رو بنویسید، اینطور در میاد: این کتابی که خریدی، چقدر بزرگ است!
پس قواعد مکالمات روزمره رو با قواعد متون formal نباید قاطی کرد.
