they may be tempted to think that even if muhammad is a creation of the religious imagination of the seventh and the eighth centuries, what could possibly be the relevance os this insight( even if proven to be true beyond all reasonable doubt) given the strength of the faith of large multitudes os muslims who believe that Muhammad is not the product of the imagination but was a real human being of flesh and blood, born in ancient Arabia and the messenger of God?
